Getting There and Around
Most travellers by air fly into Cairns Airport and make the one-hour drive to Atherton Tablelands by car hire. Taxis are also available at the airport. There are four highways that lead from the coast to Atherton Tablelands, and Gillies, Kuranda, Rex Range Road, and Palmerston Highway are all great routes with many attractions along the way.
It is easiest to get around the area and to the rainforests by driving. Tour companies also offer coaches that travel to popular sites in the area.
